Schools have troves of student data, and many of them use that data for retention, learning analytics, and other decision-making processes. However, beyond what is federally mandated, schools’ policies about protecting student data vary widely, particularly as it involves outside vendors.
In this webinar, we begin to unpack the various ethical, legal, and financial areas related to privacy of student data. We suggest ways to locate individuals at your campus who are already working on such projects, and how to engage them in discussions on protecting student data. We will also demonstrate how the Data Cookbook enables policy standards to ensure the privacy of student data.
